The representative of the Ministry of finance of Japan, Kentaro Ogata, said that the state fulfils the first part of its guarantees to the World Bank regarding assistance in the reconstruction of Ukraine. The first $471 million of the$ 5.5 billion credit coverage was sent to the Ukraine Relief, Recovery, Reconstruction, and Reform Trust Fund, which is part of the WB multi-donor project.
"Japan continues to support Ukraine and the Ukrainian people. We closely cooperate with the World Bank in providing support to Ukraine. We are grateful to the World Bank Group for its efforts to direct and ensure the targeted use of donor funds and the expansion of the donor base. We expect that our contributions will be effectively used to meet Ukraine's most urgent needs for repairing critical infrastructure," deputy minister of finance for international affairs Kentaro Ogata.
