The opening ceremony was attended by Maksym Subkh, Ukraine's special representative for the Middle East and Africa, along with notable figures from Mozambique's government, business sector, public circles, the Ukrainian diaspora, members of the diplomatic corps accredited in Maputo, and journalists.

Maksym Subkh highlighted the strategic importance of this new diplomatic post, stating, "The Republic of Mozambique is an important partner of Ukraine on the African continent. That is why Ukraine's decision to open an Embassy in Maputo is proof of our country's determination to intensify bilateral cooperation." He further noted that Ukraine is eager to elevate the relationship to a new level, fostering mutual aspirations for peace, security, and prosperity.

Filimau Suaze, Deputy Minister of Justice for Constitutional and Religious Affairs of Mozambique, echoed the sentiment regarding the profound impact of this development on Mozambican-Ukrainian relations.
