The event, orchestrated by NATO's Cooperative Cyber Defence Centre of Excellence (CCDCOE), saw the participation of over 4,000 experts from more than 40 countries.
Locked Shields 2024 aims to enhance global readiness against cyber threats through an expansive simulation that involves not only public cyber defense capabilities but also engages private and academic sectors in a comprehensive response framework. This exercise pushes the boundaries beyond conventional cyber defense drills by fostering an interdisciplinary approach to cyber threats.
Lt. Col. Urmet Tomp of NATO CCDCOE, who led the exercise, highlighted the importance of international collaboration. “Locked Shields is a testament to the strength of global cooperation. It bridges diverse groups of experts across national borders and sectors, emphasizing our collective commitment to fortifying cyber resilience,” he stated.
This participation marks a significant step for Ukraine in strengthening its cyber defense capabilities and aligning with global standards in cybersecurity practices.
