The first place in the world cast iron production is still held by China, whose metallurgists smelted 796.23 million tons of these products in 11 months of 2021 (4.2% less than in January-November 2020). The share of Chinese cast iron in world production was 60.8%.
In January-November 2021, India took second place among the world cast iron producers (106.62 million tons. Which is 16.7% more than in the same period in 2020), the third — Japan (64.44 million tons. Which is 15.2% more).
According to January-November 2021, Ukraine ranked tenth among 38 world cast iron producers, having smelted 19.44 million tons of these products during this period, 4.5% more than in January-November 2020.
World steel production in eleven months of 2021 amounted to 1.75 billion tons, 4.5% more than in January-November 2020. China's world producers are the leader of these products, where 946.36 million tons of steel were smelted during the specified period (2.6% more than in January-November 2020). The PRC's share in world steel production was 54%.
At the end of 2020, Ukraine ranked ninth among 40 global cast iron producers, having smelted 20.42 million tons of these products during this period, 1.8% more than in 2019. Ukraine climbed to eleventh place among steel producers by the end of 2020, having smelted 20.62 million tons of steel, which is 1.1% less than in 2019.
