This was reported by the Ministry of finance of Ukraine. The $1.25 billion grant under the World Bank project is aimed to support Ukraine during the war. This financial assistance does not require a refund. According to the protocol, the aid will cover the needs of the vulnerable segments of the population of Ukraine. In addition, part of the money will ensure the payment of salaries to state employees: medical representatives, teachers, emergency servicemen, etc.
Within the framework of the project Support of public expenditures to ensure sustainable public administration in Ukraine, $19.5 billion and €1.44 billion have already been received during the war. $17.97 billion has been received under the grant program; other amounts of assistance are long-term loans.
Such grants from allies help to support the country's functioning as well as the large and small businesses of Ukraine. The Ministry of finance suggests that in 2024, the country needs about $40 billion in assistance.
