On June 9, the Biden administration announced another lethal aid package from the US Department of defence to Ukraine. Assistance is provided as part of the Ukraine Security Assistance Initiative and includes:
- Munitions for Patriots;
- HAWK air defence systems and missiles;
- 105mm and 203mm artillery rounds;
- Puma UA systems;
- Laser-guided missile system munitions;
- Training, maintenance, and sustainment activities.
"This USAI package illustrates the continued commitment to both Ukraine's critical near-term capabilities as well as the enduring capacity of Ukraine's Armed Forces to defend its territory and deter Russian aggression over the long term," the DoD USA.
Under USAI, the United States purchases weapons and other military equipment from manufacturers and partners. As evidenced by the DoD statement, the United States will continue to cooperate with other countries for the long-term support of Ukraine on the battlefield.
