"Ukraine plans to provide vaccines to Donetsk and Luhansk regions, which have suffered the most in nearly eight years of war in eastern Ukraine. Only unity and goodwill can help us successfully curb the virus," said Ingrida Shimonite, Lithuania's prime minister.
The Lithuanian government has consistently supported Ukraine in vaccinating its population. In August last year, Lithuania delivered 54.000 doses of AstraZeneca to Ukraine.
The resulting vaccine, Johnson & Johnson, has been approved for vaccination in the United States, the United Kingdom, the European Union, Switzerland, Canada, and more.
The population of Ukraine is 41.208 million people. Of these, 14.985 million are fully vaccinated.
