The Japanese government will care about for humanitarian and social needs of Ukrainians

The Ministry of finance of Ukraine reported this. The fact that Japan will continue to help Ukraine during the war became known during the meeting of the finance ministers of Ukraine and Japan, Serhii Marchenko and Shunichi Suzuki. Note that Japan from the first days of the war, supports the Ukrainian people. For the entire period of the Russian aggression, the government provided financial assistance of $581 million.

Japan plans to provide $3.5 billion for maintaining macroeconomic conditions, the needs of Ukraine in restoring the country, and the essential objects for the population that Russian soldiers destroyed. The support budget is for 2023. In Ukraine, it is noted that financial assistance to Japan will help support the activities of priority areas.

"Ukraine highly appreciates Japan's contribution to accelerating our victory in the war, particularly through the systematic provision of financial, humanitarian assistance and sanctions pressure on Russia. By chairing the G7 in 2023, Japan is demonstrating principled leadership in supporting the Ukrainian issue on the agenda of international events, as well as in improving the coordination of financial assistance for Ukraine," the Ukrainian official said.

Tokyo is also considering the possibility of extending assistance to the Ukrainian state in 2024. The government may send $1.5 billion to Ukraine in the first quarter of 2024.
