According to archaeologists, the necropolis was discovered as early as 2020. It is located in central Ukraine, in the Zaporizhzhya region. Necropolis is interesting because it is located on Mamaev Mogila, the largest complex burial ground in Northern Ukraine.
Excavations in this area are ongoing. And in the first month of 2022, scientists successfully found more remains. However, in the two years of the expedition, archaeologists have not yet found such ancient artifacts. Thus, the skull found is of great interest to history.
To create a detailed picture and get as much data as possible, specialists will make DNA of the skull. This will give more information about the find. After analysis, it will be possible to determine who belongs to the skull, what was the origin of the person, and others. Therefore, the find was handed over to Ukrainian anthropologists.
"With a little more cleanup, we'll see the real features of an ancient ancestor’s face. Now we can see a broad face with a curved forehead, low rectangular orbits, masculine contours of the lower jaw. Then after DNA investing-in-ukraine/service-for-investors/business-consultant/" rel="dofollow">research and analysis, we learn something about his history of life and origin," says the leader of the expedition Potekhyna Ynna.
It is already known that the skull belongs to a man who lived a couple of millennia before Tripoli culture.
