In a statement, Zelensky highlighted the significance of Spain's involvement, describing it as historic for the first Global Peace Summit.
"Now, 90 countries have already confirmed their participation, and we continue to work with world leaders for the sake of wider representation," Zelenskyy said. He expressed gratitude to Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez for confirming his attendance at the summit.
Zelenskyy emphasized the importance of the summit as a platform to showcase genuine commitment to international law and peace. "Right there, at the summit, we will see who in the world really believes in international law and is ready to defend it effectively. Every leader who does not want the continuation of this war and further aggression of the Russian Federation can demonstrate at the summit his true interest in peace," he added.
The summit aims to gather global leaders to discuss and strategize on measures to uphold international law and work towards ending the ongoing conflict instigated by Russia. The high level of confirmed participation underscores the international community's collective effort to support peace and stability.
