In 2022, Ukraine will create a unified tourist register. It is planned to allocate $148 from the state budget. At the regional tourism conference, Olha Rabiichuk, head of the State tourism development agency (GART), Kyiv, Chernihiv, and Sumska region.
She clarified that the development is only in its first phase and will be finished next year. In all, three phases of establishing the register are envisaged, and the main changes will be made after adopting the law On tourism.
Why there is a desire to create a single tourism register:
- It is expected that the state electronic information system will contain information on all tourism сompanies and activities and other information on the organization of tourism activities;
- The draft law offers to replace the licensing of tour operators with the entry of the identity of the tour operator in the register: companies will have to submit a notice of commencement;
- According to the State agency of tourism development, this will reduce administrative pressure on businesses and simplify starting and running a business. At the same time, the establishment of a register removes unnecessary restrictions on tour operators.
"In the register, you will be able to see who works in the market officially. Consumer protection is also provided for: it will be possible to find verified data on the subjects of tourism activities in one place. It will also be a source of statistics. Indeed, we do not have complete tourism statistics as we know them today. There are only some elements of statistics that the State statistic service of Ukraine provides. But these data are often irrelevant and unreliable," explained Olha Rabiichuk.
