On January 26, the US Treasury's office of foreign assets control published additional legal entities and individuals subject to sanctions. The list includes the Wagner organisation and members of the international network of its collaborators, friends of Putin and their relatives, companies participating in the Russian military sector, and persons involved in annexing Ukrainian territories.
"Today's expanded sanctions on Wagner, as well as new sanctions on their associates and other companies enabling the Russian military complex, will further impede Putin's ability to arm and equip his war machine," treasury secretary Janet Yellen.
The latest (currently) list recognises the Wagner group as an international criminal organisation. Accordingly, all its participants are subject to United States sanctions. 11 companies that, in one way or another, help Wagner are included in the sanctions list.
- Joint Stock Company Terra Tech (Russia) and Changsha Tianyi Space Science and Technology Research Institute Co. LTD (China) — companies that provide space/satellite information about the territories of Ukraine;
- Officer's Union for International Security/Sewa Security Services — the companies that gave Wagner legal CAR "instructor" status;
- JSC Aviacon Zitotrans/AO Ural Civil Aviation Factory/Joint Stock Company National Aviation Service Company/LLC Research & Production Enterprise Prima/JSC Aerospace Defense Concern Almaz-Antey — Russian aerospace companies that provide services in arms logistics, production of human-crewed and unmanned vehicles, etc.;
- LLC TKKH-Invest (TKKH-Invest) — a company through which Lushnikov owns shares in Kalashnikov.
In addition, Putin's close friends and their families are subject to sanctions. Plus, the criminals are responsible for the annexation of the Ukrainian regions of Donetsk, Kherson, Luhansk, and Zaporizhzhia in September 2022.
