Agreements between Ukraine and the IMF

The stand-by program is designed to combat the consequences of the pandemic, as well as the reformation of Ukraine

“Cooperation of Ukraine with the IMF is one of the markers for the international community that our state is moving in the right direction. The Fund's assessment shows that Ukraine is actively implementing reforms for the development of a modern state with a developed market economy. Recently, new projects have been agreed with the World Bank, the allocation of the second tranche of macrofin from the EU and now positive agreements with the IMF - this is an indicator of the effectiveness of our joint work for the successful future of Ukraine,” said the prime minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal.

According to preliminary forecasts, approval of the agreement by the IMF Council is expected next month, and the program is expected to operate until early August 2022. As a reminder, the $5 billion program was launched in June 2020.

Agreements at the working level allow Ukraine to start implementing reforms and consolidating them at the state level.
