According to the bill's co-author, MP Olena Shulyak, the anti-corruption strategy is the basis for the development of Ukraine's anti-corruption policy.
"Ukraine already has the conclusion of the European Commission that we have made significant progress towards the rule of law. Today we have taken another step towards open courts, prosecutor's offices and police, fair payment of taxes, and the normal operation of state-owned enterprises — without abuse and corruption," Olena Shulyak said.
The structural nature of the strategy will stand in the way of acts of corruption of any magnitude. It is known that under the terms of the strategy, a coordination working group on the anti-corruption policy will be established. The group will operate on the basis of the National Agency for the Prevention of Corruption, and its composition will be regulated by the country's parliament.
"The NAPC will develop drafts of this strategy and the state anti-corruption program. She will also evaluate the effectiveness of the measures and will be able to initiate a revision of the state anti-corruption program in the light of the monitoring results," Olena Shulyak said.
Adoption of the anti-corruption legal framework was one of the conditions for granting Ukraine EU candidate status.
