“ArcelorMittal” Restarted Production in Deoccupied Kherson

After the completion of demining works, the enterprise launched limestone mining in Arkhangelske town

Due to the Russian occupation of the Kherson region in 2022, ArcelorMittal Beryslav limestone production in the urban-type village of Arkhangelske stopped its work. In October 2022, the Armed Forces of Ukraine liberated the territory, and since then, ArcelorMittal has started restoration work. The Russians destroyed part of the settlement, so the company restarted production facilities and helped with demining, garbage removal, and reconstruction of houses and a kindergarten.

On May 1, 2023, ArcelorMittal Beryslav became operational again and resumed the production of limestone, which is used for the production of agglomerate at ArcelorMittal Kryvyi Rih.

Notably, the company kept all jobs and returned every employee to work. The volume of production before the war was 500.000 tons per year. Taking into account all circumstances, ≈ 200.000 tons are expected this year.
