On July 21, Lithuanian defence minister Arvydas Anusauskas announced the transfer of new weapons to Ukraine to protect their country and citizens: M113 and M577 armoured personnel carriers and live ammunition.
"Lithuania will provide Ukraine with additional military support — M113 and M577 armoured personnel carriers, which Ukraine really needs, as well as ammunition necessary for the preparation of the reserve," Arvydas Anusauskas.
The minister noted that Lithuania would purposefully continue to promote the training of Ukrainian soldiers: the state is ready to train Ukrainian sappers and military police. Lithuania will also send its instructors to expand the training opportunities for Ukrainian soldiers in the UK.
Lithuanian foreign minister Gabrielius Landsbergis said countries have an obligation to continue supplying weapons to Ukraine as the Russians plan to stop the genocide of Ukrainians.
"As Brussels goes on vacation, this is a good opportunity to remind that the Russian military does not plan to take time off from a further attack on Ukraine," Gabrielius Landsbergis.
