Tavria is a military association of the AFU, responsible for the protection and liberation of Ukraine in the south-eastern direction: the annexed Donetsk and Zaporizhzhia regions, as well as Crimea. As you can see, Tavria's coat of arms depicts the Crimean Tatars' coat of arms. Why? Historical reference. "Tavri is the ancient name of the steppe region of Ukraine, where the modern Donetsk and Zaporizhzhia regions smoothly transit into the steppe region of Taurida — the Crimean peninsula. So, the toponyms Tavria and Tavrida are synonymous.
