“BAE Systems” Opens a Plant in Ukraine

The British company will produce spare parts for a light howitzer

One of the largest defence industries in the world in a few months plans to start work in Ukraine. The London concern will initially produce spare parts for a 105 mm calibre light howitzer. The armed forces of Ukraine are already cooperating with BAE Systems – they use artillery systems L119 and M777 and infantry fighting vehicles CV90, manufactured by a British company, on the battlefield.

Later, the world leader plans to expand the plant's capabilities in Ukraine. In what time frame the development of production will launch, the management of BAE Systems does not report.

The plant will be opened as part of an agreement signed by the leadership of the defence company with the defence Ministry of Ukraine in the summer. The cooperation agreement includes the repair of howitzers, spare parts and L119 production of light guns. Cooperation will be implemented with the Ministry of strategic industries of Ukraine.
