In a vote that highlighted the country's political divisions on the issue, 116 deputies supported the ratification, 48 voted against, and 6 abstained.
As part of the agreement, Bulgaria will offer guarantees amounting to 16,654,646 euros. The parliamentary session witnessed contrasting views, notably from Kostadin Kostadinov, the leader of the "Vazrazhdane" party. Kostadinov expressed his disapproval of the funding directed to Ukraine, citing concerns over domestic priorities in Bulgaria.

In addition to this financial support, Bulgaria has previously engaged in other forms of assistance to Ukraine. The Bulgarian parliament ratified an agreement to supply armored personnel carriers to Ukraine. Moreover, on December 7, the Bulgarian Parliament's Defense Committee approved the provision of non-operational anti-aircraft missiles to Ukraine and agreed to assist in training pilots for the F-16.
