China’s Special Representative to Visit Ukraine for War Settlement Discussions

China’s special representative, Li Hui, will embark on a diplomatic tour starting March 2nd, visiting Ukraine, Poland, France, Germany, and Russia to discuss the settlement of the Russian-Ukrainian war

This initiative, referred to by the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs as the "second round of diplomacy for a political solution to the Ukrainian crisis," marks a continued effort by China to engage in resolving the conflict. Li Hui, with a background in diplomacy within the USSR and as China's ambassador to Russia, brings a wealth of experience to these discussions. His tour follows a phone conversation between Chinese leader Xi Jinping and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyi, highlighting China's interest in participating in Ukraine's peace process. This visit also reflects China's stance on seeking a political resolution to the ongoing war, amidst global concerns over the conflict's ramifications.
