In May of last year, president Zelenskyy announced the launch of a platform through which money can be donated in 3 directions: reconstruction of Ukraine, demining and defence, and medical assistance to Ukrainians. As reported by the Ministry of digital transformation of Ukraine, people from 110 countries have joined the crowdfunding initiative since its inception, and their charitable contributions total more than $274 million.
"A key project that we believe in and that is also changing the course of the war right now is the United24 fundraising platform. This is actually a "single window" for donations from charitable organizations, international partners and citizens to support Ukraine. Since May, we have already raised over $274 million," the Ministry of digital transformation.
The platform has already turned into a convenient tool for supporting Ukraine. Thanks to donations, profile ministries and defence forces purchase the necessary equipment for doctors, rescuers, and the Ukrainian military, which defends our state.
The presidential initiative is promoted by representatives of various spheres of life: sports, art, space, and science. Ambassadors of United24 became Ukrainians Oleksandr Usyk and Andriy Shevchenko, Barbra Streisand and Demna Gvasalia, Imagine Dragons, Scott Kelly, Timothy Schneider, etc.
According to the National Bank of Ukraine, more than $1 billion has been donated to the 3 largest crowdfunding platforms since the beginning of the war: United24, Return alive and the Prytula fund.
