Prior to the start of a full-scale war, the Ministry for the development of communities, territories and infrastructure was preparing for the transfer of 3 terminals of the port of Chornomorsk, 1 of which was a container terminal, for concession. The port is located in the Odesa region and today is one of the 2 ports involved in the green corridor.
Today, the Ministry, the Global Infrastructure Fund, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development and the International Finance Corporation resumed preparing terminals for a recession. The Global Infrastructure Facility is funding the development of the feasibility study, and the EBRD and the International Finance Corporation have provided the expertise. Next starts the competition of investors for the recession.
"The task of the future investor is to effectively manage the terminals of the Chernomorsk seaport and develop them. What will give a concession to the state? Ukraine will annually receive a concession fee and stable tax revenues to the budget. Private partnership will lead to significant investments, will optimiиe the logistics of transportation and improve the quality of service delivery," said minister of infrastructure Olexandr Kubrakov.
