Congressmen Wittman and Tron Visit Kyiv, Reinforcing US Congressional Support for Ukraine

Bipartisan visit highlights continued US backing amid Russia’s aggression

US Congressmen Rob Wittman and David Trone arrived in Kyiv, marking a significant show of bipartisan support from the US Congress for Ukraine. The US Embassy in Ukraine emphasized that their visit underscores America's ongoing commitment to assisting Ukraine in its defense against Russia's illegal aggression.

During their visit, the congressmen met with Ruslan Stefanchuk, Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada, and other Ukrainian officials. This visit is notable as it marks the fourth high-level US delegation to visit the Ukrainian parliament within the last two weeks.

Stefanchuk expressed deep gratitude to the United States for its extensive support, including defense, financial, humanitarian, and political aid. He highlighted the critical importance of lifting restrictions on the use of weapons supplied by Ukraine's partners, enabling Ukraine to defend itself more effectively, including by targeting Russian military facilities. Stefanchuk also emphasized Ukraine's need for additional air defense systems, artillery, and combat aircraft to strengthen its defense capabilities.
