Representatives of Ukraine in the second half of May were able to win several prestigious medals and cups

On 14 May, the European Championship in combat jujutsu ended in Slovakia. Among 550 participants from 19 countries, there were 92 representatives of Ukraine. For 3 days of competition, the Ukrainian team received 154 awards. In singles and team competitions, the athletes won 63 gold medals, 57 silver and 32 bronze medals. Ukrainian team includes athletes of both sexes and ages: children and adults.

From 15 to 16 May, the relay took Artem Ivanov. Ukrainian – a player in checkers, representing the country at the World Championship in checkers-100 in Israel. In the blitz game, Ivanov managed to win the multiple champions in draughts, the representative of Israel, Oleksandr Shvartsman Ukrainian athlete, received the title of champion, finishing the set with a score of 5:3.

The Ukrainian military also keeps up with professional athletes. 2 veterans of the anti-terrorist operation, deployed in 2015 to defend against the occupiers of the Donetsk and Luhansk regions, set a record for Ukraine. Oleksandr Shvetsov and Serhii Khrapko became people with prosthetic legs who passed 120 km to meet each other. Both lost limbs during the battle with the enemy. The soldiers calculated that each step cost $0.60, which will take up to 7 days to overcome the distance. Veterans of the anti-terrorist operation transferred the cost of each step into money to raise $81.200 to buy a gastroscope for a military hospital. Ukrainians not only managed to walk all the distance but also increased the necessary amount. More than 100.000 Ukrainians supported the defenders of Ukraine.
