First deputy chairman of the parliament committee on tax policy Yaroslav Zhelezniak announced the adoption of the document. The act provides for the accession of Ukraine to the convention on joint transit procedure (NCTS). The Ukrainian government reports that the international application of the convention should take place before the end of this year. However, the law on "customs-free visa" will be signed in advance until the end of summer.
It is worth noting that Ukraine received an invitation from the EU to enter the visa-free customs regime in early summer. For the Ukrainian business, this invitation is significant, especially in war conditions. The signed document will help entrepreneurs:
- Use one transit declaration and guarantee for the movement of goods between 36 countries (European Union countries, United Kingdom, Turkey, Serbia, North Macedonia, Iceland, Norway, Liechtenstein, and Switzerland);
- Ukraine's financial guarantees will be valid in another 35 countries;
- Authorized enterprises will be able to import and export goods at their enterprise without entering customs terminals.
The approved customs visa-free is also part of the European integration of Ukraine. It should be noted that the last six months have been the most progressive for Ukraine in the reorganization of the processes for accession to the EU.
