Day of Commemoration of the Killed Children

June 4 in Ukraine appointed a day of remembrance of child victims of the Russian attack on Ukraine

The United Nations General Assembly established the International day of children, the innocent victims of aggression. Every year on June 4, people around the world honor little angels whose lives were taken by murderers. On June 1, 2021, Ukraine joined the day of memory. But no one knew that this day will become so close to Ukrainians.

The office of the prosecutor general of Ukraine reports that during the three months of the war between Russia against Ukraine 261 children died. 463 children were injured due to the Russian army’s attack on Ukraine. The largest number of children were affected in the Donetsk, Luhansk, Kharkiv, Chernihiv, Kherson, and Kyiv regions. So many dead young people are a disaster for parents, the country, and the future.

Some of the children were not killed by shells or rockets. Some children were brutally killed by the occupiers. In Mariupol, a Russian soldier shot a child in the face for fun. An 11-year-old girl survived.

It is also known that only in the Kyiv region because of Russian aggression:

  • 4 children are missing;
  • 14 kids lost their parents.

Unfortunately, all that Ukrainian people and the world can do now is remember small children and honor their memory. Some of them aren’t even a few months old.
