Defender “Azovstal” Died Due to Russian Torture

The commander of the 1st battalion of the regiment "Azov" Oleh Mudrak died of the heart attack

On 22 February, became known of the death of the fighter Azov. Oleh Mudrak, since 2014 defended the country from terrorists and fought for the Donetsk region. Since February 24, 2022, the military defended Mariupol and the last refuge of "people from steel" – the Azovstal plant. Like everyone else, in May, Mudrak surrendered to the Russian occupiers. The Kremlin puppets put the Azov soldier in the camp for prisoners in Olenivka. In consequence, the soldier almost died because of the terrible Russian terrorist attack on the colony.

Mudrak survived and was even included in the list of the exchange of prisoners of war. After this, the Ukrainian defender was able to return to his homeland. He said that the crime in Olenivka is not the only way to show disrespect for the law – the armed forces of the Russian Federation tortured Mudrak. But the Ukrainian fighter could not say anything. The body spoke for him. He went from a sporty and robust soldier to a man with multiple injuries and signs of dystrophy.

Almost a year after the beginning of the war, the heart of Oleh Mudrak could not stand. The soldier from Azovstal died 6 months after returning home and undergoing rehabilitation. The relatives note that this is the consequence of torture by the hands of Russian soldiers.

"A soldier who has been through hell has heart disease. The consequences of captivity and torture. I don't want to think about what lies ahead, but we will have our revenge. He survived Mariupol, the attack," said the wife of the regiment commander Azov Denys Prokopenko, Kateryna Prokopenko.

The eternal memory of the hero!
