On March 10, 2023, Belgian politicians voted to recognise the Holodomor in Ukraine 1932-1933 as a deliberate crime by the Kremlin. 117 MPs agree that it was an artificial hunger aimed at the extermination of Ukrainians. Only 10 MPs abstained. Thus, 20 countries have already recognised the horrors of the tragedy of 1932-1933 as genocide of the Ukrainian people.
"Thank Belgium for this important decision for every Ukrainian, for this deeply symbolic step today," wrote the president of Ukraine on Twitter.
It should be noted that in 2006 Ukrainka was one of the first to create a document in which she provided evidence and conclusions that speak of a deliberate crime of the Soviet authorities against the Ukrainian people. The act qualified Holodomor as an act of genocide. But only in 2022 did other countries begin to look at historical facts and support Ukraine.
Managers of the Russian Federation have always been determined to exterminate the nation of Ukrainians. But like in every historical period, Ukraine will stand.
