Denmark Commits Nearly €295 Million in New Aid Package to Enhance Ukraine’s Military Capabilities

Denmark has announced a significant new aid package amounting to nearly €295 million (DKK 2.2 billion) aimed at bolstering the military capabilities of Ukraine

This latest commitment will focus on enhancing Ukraine's maritime potential and supporting the production of drones and missiles.

As reported by the Danish Ministry of Defense, the allocated funds will be directed towards various sectors within Ukraine's defense industry. This includes the procurement and transfer of weapons and ammunition, drone technology, and the production of missile components, in collaboration with the Netherlands and the Czech Republic.

Danish Defense Minister Trolls Lund Poulsen, reflecting on his recent visit to Ukrainian defense industry enterprises in Kyiv, highlighted the significant opportunities for future collaborations. "It became clear that there is great potential for future cooperation that can supply necessary equipment to Ukraine that will help change the situation on the battlefield," Poulsen stated.

He further emphasized that this direct investment into Ukraine's defense industrial complex is a pioneering initiative, expressing hope that it will encourage other nations to provide similar support. This approach aims to enable Ukraine to increase its domestic production of military equipment significantly.

To date, Denmark's total military support to Ukraine has reached nearly €5.9 billion (DKK 41.4 billion), underscoring its strong commitment to supporting Ukraine amid ongoing conflicts. This continued assistance is crucial in enhancing Ukraine's defensive and offensive capabilities on various fronts.
