"The agreement provides for consulting support and technical assistance in the implementation of the experience of the Kingdom of Denmark on the modernization of district heating systems in Ukraine. The amount of the grant is up to 6,4 million Danish kroner (about 1 million euros)," the Ministry of regional development reports.
Chernyshov noted that Denmark's experience in the area of district heating has become the reason for building a long-term partnership between the countries.
In Vilnius, Ukraine and Denmark signed a new cooperation agreement within the framework of the Ukrainian-Danish program, which will last from 2021 to 2026. The agreement was signed by the minister of energy of Ukraine Herman Galuschenko and the minister of foreign affairs of the Kingdom of Denmark Jeppe Kofod.
"The agreement between the Ministry of energy of Ukraine and the Ministry of foreign affairs of the Kingdom of Denmark will mark a new stage in deepening international partnership, which will focus on strengthening the environment for sustainable energy solutions and technologies based on Danish experience and technical assistance," the Ministry of energy notes.
During the signing of the document, Galushchenko stressed that he sees significant potential for deepening cooperation between Ukraine and Denmark in the development of renewable energy sources and enhancing energy security.
This will lead to improved conditions for the introduction of the latest environmentally friendly energy technologies and attracting investments in sustainable energy in Ukraine.
