Development of Transport Infrastructure Ukraine-Latvia

A map of the development of cooperation between states was discussed during the Kyivan negotiations between the PMs of Ukraine and Latvia

On March 16, a meeting of representatives of the governments of Ukraine and Latvia was held in Kyiv. During a joint press conference by prime minister Denys Schmuhal and Krisjanis Karins, the parties announced the continuation of cooperation within the framework of the Intergovernmental Ukrainian-Latvian Commission on economic, industrial, scientific and technical cooperation.

The parties announced the start of the 9th meeting of the Intergovernmental commission. It is known that one of the main issues at the upcoming meeting will be the development of logistics routes. Ukraine's participation in the TEN-T system opens opportunities for developing new and more logistical links with Poland and the Baltic states.

"I am convinced that the new logistics from north to south, from south to north is the prospect of multilateral cooperation and a change in logistics on the European continent," Denys Schmuhal.

The prime minister of Ukraine thanked Krisjanis Karins for Latvia's decision in projects to restore the Chernihiv region of Ukraine, providing equipment for the repair of energy systems, which was urgently needed during Russian attacks on Ukraine's energy infrastructure.

In turn, Krisjanis Karins said that the people of Latvia support and will continue to support Ukraine. Since the beginning of Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine, Latvia has provided more than €300 million of military aid to Ukraine.
