According to the Government portal, to reduce the cost of air tickets, the authorities have approved the procedure for using the budget of $3.8 million to compensate for the expenses of Ukrainian airlines during the pandemic period. Airlines can apply to the Ministry of transport for appropriate compensation until December 10.
The prime minister said that the coronavirus pandemic had a powerful impact on the aviation industry. At the moment, when people are gradually starting to travel, ticket prices must become more affordable.
Based on the meeting results, Shmyhal instructed the Ministry of transport to develop proposals to reduce the cost of domestic air travel.
In addition, Kubrakov noted that the authorities would make domestic transportation more comfortable. It is about the development of a network of airports. In particular, the construction of an airfield not far from Mariupol and Kramatorsk and the main airport of Transcarpathia in Mukachevo.
Earlier, the president of Ukraine announced the creation of a state air carrier, calling it "a matter of status and image."
