Jeff Koons’s Donation to Ukraine

"Christie's" will sell the work of the sculptor "Balloon Monkey". The proceeds will be donated to the treatment of wounded soldiers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine

Jeff Koons decided to sell the iconic Balloon Monkey (Magenta) to help Ukraine. It is known that the date of the auction has already been set. June 14-July 3, Balloon Monkey will be exhibited in front of the residence of Christie's in London, where everyone can admire the sculpture before the sale.

"The real value of art is to serve humanity, and today there can be no higher calling than to support the people of Ukraine… I have had the opportunity to visit Ukraine often both on my own and with my family, and have always felt a strong sense of unity, friendship, and history," Jeff Koons.

The proceeds will be donated to treat wounded soldiers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine who were seriously injured. The amount from the sale will cover surgical operations, prosthetics, and rehabilitation of the Ukrainian military. The estimated cost of Balloon Monkey (Magenta) is in the order of £6-10 million. In 2014, Balloon Monkey (Orange) sold for $25.9 million.
