Dutch Company DeltaQuad to Supply Reconnaissance Drones to Ukraine

Netherlands’ Ministry of Defense allocates €42.6 million for drone procurement

The Dutch company DeltaQuad is set to deliver advanced reconnaissance drones to Ukraine, with the Ministry of Defense of the Netherlands allocating €42.6 million for this purpose. This information was released by the Dutch Ministry of Defense.

The Intelligence, Surveillance & Reconnaissance (ISR) drones have extended operational capabilities and can cover long distances. They will be employed to obtain real-time battlefield intelligence, conduct surveillance, and gather crucial information.

This procurement is part of the Netherlands' Drone Action Plan, which Minister Ruben Brekelmans recently announced during his visit to Ukraine. The ministry highlighted Ukraine's urgent need for such drones to monitor Russian military activities and plans on the battlefield, aiding in the maintenance of its defensive lines.

Drone Action Plan Details

"This supply from DeltaQuad is an important and concrete step within our action plan. Ukraine needs advanced drones that can be delivered on short notice. It's positive that the Dutch industry can contribute to this effort. Additionally, this order will support the further development of the domestic drone ecosystem," stated Minister Brekelmans.

The action plan for the safe production of unmanned systems (APOS) consists of three key areas:

  1. Rapid Acquisition of Drones for Ukraine: Including initiatives for joint production.
  2. Development of the Drone Industry: Building and enhancing the innovation ecosystem within the Netherlands.
  3. Establishing Sustainable Processes: Focusing on financing and procurement mechanisms.

For security reasons, the ministry did not disclose specific details regarding the number of drones, their models, or delivery schedules.
