€9 Bln Grant to Ukraine From the EU

On May 31, a decision was made to provide Ukraine with a macro-financial tranche to fill urgent economic gaps

This was stated today by Ursula von der Leyen during the joint press conference at the special EUCO. It is known that macrocredit is provided to Ukraine to pay off urgent budgetary needs.

"I am glad that tonight the leaders agreed in principle on the sixth sanctions package. This is an important step forward. We also agreed to work on a mechanism to provide Ukraine with a new, exceptional macro-financial assistance package of up to €9 billion," Ursula von der Leyenwrote on Twitter.

The transfer of this tranche was also commented on by the president of the European Council, Charles Michel.

"EUCO will continue helping Ukraine with its immediate liquidity needs, together with the G7. EUCO is ready to grant Ukraine €9 billion. Strong and concrete support to Ukraine's reconstruction," Charles Michel.

We remind you that some time ago, it became known about the grant to Ukraine of $166 ln from Japan.
