On July 18, the parliament of Ukraine decided to implement an energy efficiency project within the framework of a €5 mln grant

Today, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine approved the grant agreement of the E5P fund, as well as the agreement with the European Bank on the provision of a grant under the project Energy efficiency of public buildings in Ukraine.

"The VR voted for the ratification of the E5P fund grant agreement between Ukraine and the European Investment Bank and the Investment Grant Agreement — public buildings Energy efficiency of public buildings in Ukraine) between Ukraine and the European Investment Bank," head of the Servant of the People party Olena Shulyak.

According to the deputy, the funds allocated as a grant will be directed to the thermomodernization of public premises. To date, 6.400 buildings have already been selected to be transformed in terms of energy efficiency: schools, cultural centers, kindergartens and hospitals.

According to Yulia Sviridenko, vice prime minister of the economy of Ukraine, the first stage of thermal modernization of the premises will begin this year. Energy-efficient buildings will reduce the country's need for gas by 2.5%, which will collectively save ₴140 billion in the treasury.
