Estonian prime minister Kaja Kallas met with Vera Jourova — the VP for values and transparency in the European Commission. The parties discussed assistance to Ukraine and countering Russian attacks.
"Met Vera Jourova to explore ways to counter disinformation and manipulation on social media and protect media freedom. Also discussed EU's support to Ukraine and how to accelerate solutions to use frozen Russian assets in support of Ukraine and hold Russia accountable," Kaja Kallas.
The PM also visited a team that weaves camouflage nets for the Armed Forces of Ukraine. This consumable material is essential for the Ukrainian army, which is inferior to the aggressor's army in terms of numbers. Shortly, the nets will be transferred to Ukraine, and some of our soldiers will come across one woven by the hands of Kaja Kallas.
At the end of August 2022, Estonian President Alar Karis also helped to weave camouflage nets. Moreover, the president was wearing a T-shirt of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. And in December 2022, in order to demonstrate their support for the Ukrainian resistance, the Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia presidents made trench candles for Ukrainian soldiers.
