Ursula von der Leyen stated that electricity would be delivered to Ukrainian homes, hospitals, and other institutions despite all attacks by Russian missiles. According to her, the European Union has transferred 3.000 generators to Ukraine since the beginning of the war. But now the international organization is ready to provide more humanitarian assistance to stabilize the state of the electricity grids in Ukraine
Thus, on 2 February, the president of the European Commission announced the transfer of 2.400 additional generators and LED lamps to Kyiv. At the same time, the commission increased the amount of aid that was mentioned earlier. Ukraine will receive 35 million LED lamps instead of 30 million. Also, Ursula von der Leyen announced the acquisition of important power equipment for Ukraine. Such a step would be possible with the support of the energy community. The European Energy Community is preparing to provide Ukraine with €150 million.
