EU-Ukraine Defense Industry Forum Set for May 6 in Brussels

A significant defense industry forum aimed at enhancing the defense-industrial cooperation between the EU and Ukraine is scheduled to take place in Brussels on May 6

The forum, supported by the Belgian Presidency of the Council of the EU and the European Aerospace, Security, and Defense Industry Association, will convene more than 350 delegates. These include representatives from EU institutions, governments, the European and Ukrainian defense industry, industry associations, and key partner countries and organizations.

The day's events will feature a high-level conference in the morning followed by business meetings in the afternoon. The forum aims to bolster collaboration between European and Ukrainian defense industries and to facilitate Ukraine's acquisition of capabilities in critical areas such as air defense, ammunition, missiles, and drones.

This gathering marks a significant milestone in implementing the European Defense Industrial Strategy (EDIS) and represents a crucial component of the EU's extensive support for Ukraine amidst its ongoing defense against Russia's aggressive war.

Distinguished attendees will include Josep Borrell, High Representative of the Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy; Thierry Breton, European Commissioner for Internal Market; Lyudivin Dedonder, Minister of Defense of Belgium; and Oleksandr Kamyshin, Minister of Strategic Industry of Ukraine.
