On May 9-11, Dutch prime minister Mark Rutte arrived in Sao Paulo for international negotiations on cooperation in the fields of trade, agriculture and clean energy. During the meeting with the president of Brazil, Lula da Silva, the prime minister drew attention to the fallacy of the opinion that the armament of Ukraine is the cause of the prolongation and escalation of the Russian war.
"We must help Ukraine fight this fight," Mark Rutte May 8.
"If Putin would be successful in Ukraine, and I don't think he will be, it won't end there. People are worried for their own safety, in Amsterdam, in Berlin, in Paris and Europe," Mark Rutte.
Rutte also added that aid to Ukraine is "existential" for the Netherlands and all European countries. The reason for this is simple: Russia attacked Ukraine because of Ukrainian values. And Ukraine and EU countries share the same values.
Mark Rutte reported that the Netherlands, Denmark and several other EU countries, Great Britain and the USA are considering the transfer of F16 to Ukraine. However, arrangements must first be made for the supply of Panzer howitzers and Leopard battle tanks.
