This was reported by the press service of the EU Council.
"The EU Council is now ready to sign four important aviation agreements that will improve market access for airlines and strengthen connections and freedom of movement for citizens," Portuguese infrastructure minister Nuno Santos said.
This agreement, in addition to low ticket prices and protection of Ukrainian consumers' rights in the same way as in the EU, Kyiv will in turn be obliged to adhere to EU aviation standards.
The agreement is expected to be signed in the fall of 2021. It must then be ratified by the signatory country, the EU and each EU member state. However, while this is happening, the agreement could come into force on a temporary basis.
At the same time, we should not expect a drastic reduction in prices, since the development of this industry is limited due to the pandemic.
Participants of the joint airspace with the EU are already Moldova, Georgia, Israel and several other countries. In addition to Ukraine, a similar agreement was signed with Armenia, Tunisia and Qatar.
