"The demand for IT specialists is growing by 30% annually" president of the IT Ukraine Association, Vitaliy Sedler.
As Vitaliy noted, in the second half of 2020, Ukrainian companies managed to fully recover from the crisis associated with the coronavirus pandemic.
As a result, market players began to demonstrate record growth rates. According to analytics, some of them managed to reach the 10,000 employee mark.
- At the same time, the demand for IT specialists is growing. In IT Ukraine, in particular, this is associated with the digitalization of businesses and the need for companies to switch to a remote work format. As of July 2021, the number of vacancies in the field is 39.2% higher than the number of relevant professionals who posted their resumes on the Internet.
- At the moment, Ukraine receives many requests for IT services from almost all over the world, Sadler noted.
- Against this background, new areas and directions in IT are developing, in particular: the emergence of MLOps specialists, by analogy with DevOps and DataOps experts, as a result of the rapid development of machine learning, new methods of data processing and investing-in-ukraine/service-for-investors/warehouses/" rel="dofollow">storage.
- The Association also said that the number of IT graduates (15,000-20,000 people annually) does not meet the needs of the market. Despite this, the positive result is the growth in the switch industry.
“The industry needs at least 54,000 new IT engineers in 2021, given the 30% growth in the labor market,” said Vitaly Sedler.
