The National Bank of Ukraine reports that the level of exports of IT services by Ukrainian programmers in June increased by 9.5% compared to May. The total cost of the scope of work is $590 million. Notably, this is 1.8% ($11 million) less than in May 2022, when the 3rd month of the war was burning in Ukraine.
The same difference is also visible in comparing the last 5 months of 2023 and the same period of 2022: $2.8 billion to $374 million. That is, in 2022, revenue from the provision of IT services was 12% more.
Stepan Veselovsky, CEO of Lviv IT Cluster, reports that in 2023 the participation of digital content in the total export of Ukraine is 41% and in 2022 — 47%. This year's projected revenue could equal last year's $7.3 billion.
Despite the war, several groups of the male population in Ukraine are fit for military service but are exempt from this duty: programmers and fathers of many children.
