Last year, 35.1 thousand foreigners visited Ukrainian resorts in just three months. Tourists from Oman, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, and Bahrain came to the country during the tourist season. In Ukraine, this period peaks at the beginning of May and lasts until the end of July. In the last month of the summer, Ukrainian tourist destinations were visited by 10.000 people. And that’s only tourists from Saudi Arabia. During the year, the number of foreign visitors in Ukraine reached 3 million. This bottom line is much higher than the result for the year 2020. In percentage terms, Ukraine’s popularity for tourists increased by 12.6% per year.
Also, last year, many people from the United States and Canada visited the country. The increased popularity of Ukrainian tourism in these locations on the map is due to the creation of new air routes.
According to the state agency of Ukraine for tourism development, foreign tourists stayed in the country on average from 5 to 10 days. One person spends between $92 and $183 a day. The highest rates of spending recorded by travelers from:
- America
Americans in Ukraine spent about $1.125 on holidays;
- Canada
One Canadian spends almost $1.250 in Ukraine;
- Saudi Arabia and Oman
People from Saudi Arabia and Oman have been even more generous. They spend about $1.5 in 5-10 days in the country.
- United Arab Emirates
Travelers from the UAE in 2021 were most generous. They spared no expense in the amount of $2-2.2 thousandths per person.
