Yle reports that the Finnish government, following Western sanctions, has begun to seize Russian property and accounts. Arrests are made at the official level by the debt collection authority. Finland has taken from Russians the opportunity to use transport and money at a market value of €187 million. Further, the government will consider transferring these funds to Ukraine’s reconstruction.
"These are real estate, shares, cars, yachts, planes — any property of value," the head of the interior Ministry of Finland Krista Mikkonen.
It is reported that sanctions have touched even Russian oligarch Gennady Timchenko. It is on the EU sanctions list, and Finland has a part of the capital Helsinki-Hallii arena.
Bloomberg reports that during the 10 months of the war (in 2022), Russian oligarchs have lost at least $95 billion. The EU sanctions have already been imposed on 1.236 Russian individuals and 115 firms. Therefore, in addition to the funds provided by Finland, there are already about €20 billion, which in the future can also be used to reconstruct Ukraine.
Thus, all those who supported, donated, and participated in the war against the neighbouring state, in any case, will be punished.
