According to the Turkish Union of уxporters of the Mediterranean кegionб the export of fresh fruits and vegetables from Turkey in the first 8 months of the year amounted to $1 billion 785 million, an increase of 20% over the same period last year.
Turkey's revenues from the sale of fruits in January-August of this year amounted to $805 million 396 thousand, vegetables —$576 million 402 thousand, citrus — $391 million and tea — $11 million 898 thousand.
The most demanded commodities in Turkish export of vegetables and fruits during this period were tomato and sweet cherry.
Export of sweet cherries from Turkey in January-August 2021 amounted to $184 million 13 thousand, tomatoes — $240 million 409 thousand.
Lemons, peaches and tangerines are followed by sales.
