This was reported by the minister of infrastructure of Ukraine Oleksandr Kubrakov.
"In 2021, Ukraine and France signed a Framework Agreement with a total value of €1.3 billion. The new directions that we presented the other day will potentially add another billion in investments," the minister said.
Kubrakov claimed that the program of president Volodymyr Zelenskyy Big Construction gave significant positive results this year, which resulted in engaging the French government and French companies in Ukrainian business activity.
He mentioned that in summer the Ministry of infrastructure began cooperation with the French consulting company Aerogestion on the optimal model for creating a National Air Carrier, and by the end of this year the outcomes and possible solutions are expected to be presented to the government.
“As part of the development of the concept of the National Air Carrier, we are also exploring opportunities for cooperation between Antonov State Enterprise and AirBus for cargo transportation and firefighting aircraft. These are ambitious and complex projects that are inspired by the idea of a Greater Europe, because the European Union itself began not only with coal and steel, but also with the first European aircraft," said Kubrakov.
The minister also added that a project for the construction of a new road along the route Krakovets-Lvov-Brody-Rivno was presented in Paris, and that a company with a private initiative has already joined it.
"By the end of the year, the development of a feasibility study is being completed, and next year we expect competition and the start of the project. The expertise and experience of French road companies in such projects are extremely valuable," Kubrakov noted.
The minister expressed the confidence that cooperation between the two countries will also affect the Ukrainian railway: the contract between Ukrzaliznytsya and the French company Alstom for the purchase of locomotives is about to be concluded.
As reported, earlier, in the presence of president Volodymyr Zelenskyy, an agreement was signed on the provision of 130 new freight electric trains manufactured by Alstom to Ukrzaliznytsia by France.
