In February, Ukraine and Europe began to work actively on the project regarding the absence of roaming between the countries. On 7 April, the Ukrainian government adopted the necessary documentation to work on the agreement on zero-roaming communications. On April 18, it became known that the EU Council also decided on Ukraine’s membership in the European network. International council members are ready to provide Ukrainians with free communication this year. This means that Ukrainians will not need to change their phone number or pay almost $1 per 1 minute of communication. The same will apply to European subscribers who come to Ukraine. In addition, all consumers will be protected by European Union regulations.
Minister of digital transformation of Ukraine Mykhailo Fedorov also explained that such 2-side cooperation brings the association with the EU closer. However, after the Council of the EU voted for the project on visa-free roaming, the association's Committee on trade composition should make a final decision on this issue.
