The Operational Command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine South announced the arrival of the long-awaited Gepard self-propelled artillery installations from Germany. Today, the Ukrainian army received 3 units from the promised batch of 30 Gepard artillery units. It is known that almost 100 Ukrainian military personnel were trained in Germany to work on these anti-aircraft installations.
The Gepard is designed to hit targets at a distance of up to 4 km and requires only 3 operators: a driver, a commander and a gunner. The Armed Forces of Ukraine plan to use the Gepard to protect the country's infrastructure from Russian air attacks.
Until 2000, the Gepard defended Germany, the Netherlands and Belgium. Now will protect all of Europe.
