Germany and Sweden Allowed to Use Their Weapons to Liberate Crimea

Ukraine has the right to use weapons from western partners to recover its territories

Olaf Scholz and Magdalena Andersson held a joint press conference in Stockholm. Germany and Sweden's government heads discussed Ukraine's situation and military assistance.

The representative of Sweden noted that the country's decision to provide military assistance to Ukraine was historic. Anderson believes that Russia should not win a war of conquest.

Scholz also answered a question from journalists about the use of foreign weapons by the Ukrainian army to liberate the Luhansk, Donetsk, and Autonomous Republic of Crimea.

"We support Ukraine with supplied weapons. This is a weapon so that Ukraine can use it to defend its territorial integrity and sovereignty," said Scholz.

Swedish and German politicians have said that Europe must show its strength in these difficult times. According to the heads of government, Europe should be united and continue to impose sanctions against Russia. Scholz and Anderson confirmed their readiness to continue supporting Ukraine and to impose large-scale sanctions.

Earlier, Swedish defence minister Peter Gulquist announced the possibility of providing Ukraine with a new type of assistance. He stated that Sweden could manufacture weapons for the Ukrainian armed forces.
